WHO ARE WE
We are AWAYA Women in Aviation Steering Group, a dynamic assembly of visionary leaders from across the African continent. Comprising of distinguished Directors Generals, Deputy Directors General of various Civil Aviation Authorities, technical experts, entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs and passionate professionals.
Our mission is to foster a thriving, diverse, and inclusive aviation industry that not only recognizes the invaluable contributions of women and youth but actively seeks to uplift and empower them. We believe in a future where the African aviation landscape is a reflection of the rich tapestry of cultures, experiences, and talents that our continent has to offer.
Bound by a shared vision, we come together to identify challenges, strategize solutions, and pave the way for the next generation of women and youth in aviation in collaboration with our esteemed male counterparts.

Give One Thing : Pledge Tracker
The Pledge Tracker provides a snapshot of commitments made and delivered under Give One Thing 2026. Coordinated in support of the Single African Air Transport Market, it reflects measurable actions contributing to Africa’s aviation capacity.
